The Chief Commissioner of Police, Graham Ashton, is due to give an update on police and COVID-19 at 1pm.
Topics he is likely to touch on include the use of drones to monitor those heading to the beach this weekend as the warm weather draws people out of their homes.
He has also been speaking this morning about the supply of protective equipment to frontline officers, after the powerful police union expressed concern about a lack of masks and other protective measures not getting to police stations fast enough.
Police this week announced the creation of a 500-officer squad called Operation Sentinel which will crack down on anyone not complying with the regulations around self-isolation and social distancing.
